"In a context in which the official voices of the Catholic hierarchy have not yet been delivered, through a pastoral or through a similar, over the poor economic situation and social and political drift of our country and right now that bloom several civil society initiatives in this direction, the Society of Jesus has decided to take the lead and take a first step in this direction with a manifesto in favor of "democratic regeneration of public life in Spain" to be presented today in Madrid . The text, which emanates from teachers and scholars of Jesuit universities in our country, withDeusto, Comillas and ESADE in the lead, will be presented at a ceremony in the former ministers involved also Javier Solana and Josep Piqué , journalist Jose Antonio Zarzalejos and philosopher Daniel Innerarity .
Universities and higher education institutions of the Jesuits, coordinated under the name Unijes-Jesuit Universities, want to contribute, from civil society, to "overcome the current situation of impairment in social, political and economic afflicting the country" , just as have the initiative in a statement. Always, "from the Christian humanism" but open to other sensitivities.
His statement includes, in fact, claims and put forward by different sectors of society, such as the need for a new law on parties and a new electoral law, and makes claims about how the markets are imposing on governments and people .
Among other issues, the Jesuit universities demand more separation, more real and effective, of the branches of government , greater transparency on the part of institutions, adjusting the balance of party politics in favor of finding great consensus on a new model land to continue to be based on the principles of cohesion and solidarity.
Carlos Losada , Unijes CEO, explained that the initiative has been brewing since last November and has been a clamor within their own universities. "The initiative is of some concern of teachers and scholars of the centers of the deterioration of public life in Spain," he says. "We have been working hard to contribute something to society other than more noise, because there is a lot of noise, but it's something proactive," he concludes.
The initiative is not officially part of the Society of Jesus, but of their universities, but, as acknowledged by the Losada, the Company is aware of all the steps that have been taken. In his public presentation, which will take place today in the Aula Magna of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, involved Javier Solana , President of ESADEgeo, and Josep Piqué , Chairman of Vueling, representing two different political sensibilities and as people who are away from forefront of political life. Intervene also the philosopher Daniel Innerarity , director of the Institute for Democratic Governance and José Antonio Zarzalejos , acting as moderator, and is, in turn, an alumnus of the University of Deusto."link: http://www.elconfidencial.com/espana/2013/07/11/los-jesuitas-presentan-con-solana-y-pique-un-manifiesto-a-favor-de-la-regeneracion-democratica-124751/
